Different types of media products include:
Interactive (Website, Game, App)
Print ( Magazine, Newspaper, Advertising)
Audio-Visual (Film, Tv Show, Trailer, Advert, Radio Ad)
For example, the creation of an educational website differs for the creation of a music video. However, some aspects of the Pre-Production stage will be similar.
Tips
Use your BRIEF. Pick out the client requirements from the brief.
Make sure you are picking out Media Products or anything focusing on the target audience.
Job Roles/Personal
When making a media product, who you have on your team/job roles is fundamental to making the product successful. You may need to consider:
How many people you need in your team.
Job Roles-Producer, Editor, Director.

- Experience in editing
- The required skills for editing. E.g. using a computer.
- When editing sound effects would be needed.
- Video editors need to be organized.
What is the difference between Primary and Secondary research.
Primary research is when you find your own information and facts on the topic or event you are learning. Secondary research is when you use someone else's research who had already got the ideal facts and information from them.

Interviews, Group interviews, Online meetings and surveys.

Books, Websites, Videos, Fact files.

Top Tips:
Make sure you keep linking back to the brief e.g. what product are you making, who is in your team?
Deadlines and Constraints are in your brief. It's up to you to explain how they will impact the production. Put yourself in the position of the crew, how would this impact you.
Drawing Questions, annotate. Keep linking back to your target audience and why you are making those decisions.
Regulation bodies. Be careful not to get these mixed up with audience research companies.
